Workshop - Engineered polymerases enable crude sample PCR from Plants

18 ottobre 2012 - San Michela all'Adige (TN)

Kapa Biosystems is a life science reagents company focused on protein engineering using high-throughput molecular evolution technology. After almost 25 years, the PCR market is still serviced by only a few generalist enzymes isolated from thermophilic organisms. With very few engineered versions available, these enzymes are inadequate for a multitude of increasingly specialist and demanding PCR applications.
Kapa uses a unique high-throughput molecular evolution technology platform to engineer novel DNA-modifying enzymes for the life sciences, diagnostics and applied PCR markets. By using emulsion PCR, we are able to apply functional screening to very large libraries of protein variants, allowing us to overcome the major obstacle to in vitro molecular evolution.
